"The theme of the GA was “Promoting Positive Youth Empowerment: The Role of the Family, Community, Education and the Juvenile Justice System, which was achieved at the Mbongi Program on January 14 at the S.H.A.P.E. Community Center in Houston. The S.H.A.P.E. Center (Self Help for African People through Education) was perfect for the Community Outreach  event because it is a central location in the greater Houston community that provides access to art, books, electronic resources  and Black owned/operated media sources.  S.H.A.P.E. is an environment that celebrates the African aesthetic".
