Below is an opportunity for Masters Level Clinicians with an LPC to participate in a grant funded program.  Interested Clinicians would be expected to 1. provide intake assessments and reports, 2. provide individual, group and family counseling sessions. Psychiatrist would be expected to provide psychiatric evaluations and reports. Please see below for more information on requirements.

BAYLOR COLLEGE OF MEDICINE/TEXAS CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL

The Psychology Service at Texas Children's Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine is accepting applications for the Child Clinical Psychology Post-doctoral Fellowship, 2012 training class.  Fellowship opportunities are available in the following tracks: Anxiety Disorders (ADP), Disruptive Behavior Disorders (DBD), and Pediatric Health Psychology (PHP) programs.  The mission/goal of the fellowship program is to train professionals for independent patient care, research, and teaching in the area of child psychology. At the completion of training, such professionals would be capable of working in academic medical centers, hospitals, or in private practice. Texas Children's Hospital, the largest children's hospital in the United States, is the primary teaching/training center for Baylor's Department of Pediatrics and this fellowship program. Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital are located in Houston on the grounds of the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical center in the world. The physical resources of the hospital and medical center provide enormous opportunities for training, research, and clinical experiences.

The client population served through the Texas Children’s Hospital includes virtually every aspect of primary and specialized pediatric medicine. Fellows will have the opportunity to participate in evaluations and therapy with children with a variety of mental health and physical disorders. Primary services in which the fellows engage include diagnostic assessment; consultation with families, schools, and referring physicians; individual, family, and group psychotherapy; with optional minor rotation opportunities selected from within the Disruptive Behavior Disorders program, Pediatric Health Psychology program,  Pediatric Neuropsychology Program, and Primary Care Pediatric Psychology program.

Applicants are required to have completed their doctoral degree prior to beginning the fellowship program. A diploma or a letter from the graduate university Department Chair is required prior to official appointment. Appointment also is contingent upon drug screening and a criminal background check.

Application deadline for the Pediatric/Clinical Child Fellowships: January 3, 2012
